In 1994, one of the largest protective footwear factories in the country, Rhino Work, opened its doors for the first time. With a dedicated team behind it, the factory started with a clear vision: a concrete answer to the growing needs of the market.
Following its international success, the footwear manufactured in Bacău began to attract local interest, which justified the development of a complex distribution line. The factory managed to rapidly expand its network, and the products manufactured here have become an important part of the protective equipment of employees in over 59 countries.
In the 30 years since we opened the first protective footwear factory here in Bacău, we have stayed on the same path: we want to be there for employees in high-risk work environments and to open access to durable, comfortable and affordable protective footwear, tailored to the needs of each individual. We continue to look confidently to the future and invest in the safety of workers in Romania and around the world. We thank everyone who has been with us on this journey: customers, partners and colleagues. – Managing Director Rhino Safety.
A key moment in the increase in productivity and product quality was in 2001, with the investment in the first sole injection machine in Romania. In 2010, Rhino Safety, a distribution company for work protection equipment, was founded in order to be able to commercialize the Exena and Sirin Safety brands on the local market, which are already well established on the market.
In 2014, the threshold of 2 million pairs of protective footwear sold was reached, and today, on the back of €11.3 million in investments in equipment and infrastructure, the company is constantly prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly demanding market. Subsequently, the factory in Bacău became the first in Romania to be able to produce footwear with double-density polyurethane soles, an important standard for labor protection in hazardous work environments.
Over the years, Rhino Safety has gradually expanded its production capacity, logistical possibilities and product assortment to meet the ever-increasing demand. Thus, the Bacău-based company has become a real pillar on the national and European market, in particular thanks to its range of resistant protective footwear with a very good quality-price ratio, entirely manufactured in Romania.
Currently, at the Rhino Work factory in Bacău, more than 400 employees actively contribute to maintaining a permanent stock of 150,000 pairs of shoes. Operational capacity has reached 10-12,000 pairs per day.
